WHO WE ARE
Olgeta Foundation is an Australian-registered charity dedicated to improving lives and protecting the natural environment in Papua New Guinea and the Pacific.
Founded by a group of friends with a shared connection to the Pacific Islands, our foundation brings together people, skills and resources to support communities facing challenges in accessing essential services.
Our name reflects the spirit of “Bung Wantaim”, a Tok Pisin expression meaning “coming together”. This philosophy is at the heart of everything we do — working alongside local communities, volunteers and partner organisations to achieve meaningful results.
Our work focuses on three key areas: healthcare and humanitarian assistance, marine conservation, and community development.
From delivering medical equipment to remote health facilities to supporting marine research expeditions aboard MV Golden Dawn, we believe that practical action and strong partnerships can make a lasting difference.
Together, we can create stronger communities and protect the natural heritage of Papua New Guinea for future generations.

Meet our Youth Ambassador
Murray Thistletwaite
Murray Thistletwaite is a passionate advocate for inclusivity and accessibility, serving as the Youth Ambassador for the Olgeta Foundation. Since beginning his career as a disability support worker in 2019, Murray has committed himself to enhancing the lives of individuals with disabilities through dedicated service and innovative support initiatives.
WHAT WE DO
OUR SERVICES
At OLGETA Foundation, we provide a wide range of services to the people of Pacific Islands. Currently we are focused on healthcare, education and investigating how to provide access to clean water in places of need. With our vessel Golden Dawn (a 24m motor vessel) we are able to reach isolated regions. The vessel is also key to providing support to other Aid Organisations.
