WHO WE ARE

The OLGETA Foundation is a nonprofit aid organization driven by a deep affection for Pacific Islands and its people. Our foundation has emerged through the collective efforts of a group of friends who share a common passion for creating a positive and lasting impact on the environment as well as the lives of the Pacific Islands communities.

 

At the OLGETA Foundation, we believe in harnessing our collective skills, ideas, and resources to address critical needs, foster sustainable development, and preserve the remarkable natural wonders that Pacific Islands possess. In addition by collaborating and supporting other nonprofit aid organisations we are able to have a more powerful impact, hence the term in ‘Pidgin’ “Bung Wantaim” which means “ get together”, “Unite!”.

 

First and foremost, we are committed to the protection of our common legacy: the environment. We strongly believe in the conservation and preservation of natural resources, promoting ecological sustainability, and fostering a harmonious relationship between communities and their environment. By empowering communities and promoting innovative solutions, we strive to address the pressing challenges of climate change and environmental degradation.

 

Health is a vital component of our mission as well. Our passionate members and collaborating non profit organisations tirelessly combat diseases such as malaria, polio, and women's health issues. Beyond disease prevention, we emphasize health education and provide essential services such as vaccinations, vision care, birth control implants, and dental care to those in need. By promoting preventive healthcare and empowering individuals with knowledge, we aim to improve the overall well-being of the Pacific Islands population.

 

Education is another fundamental aspect of our work. We are dedicated to supporting basic education for both children and adults, with a focus on reducing gender disparity in education. We believe that education is the key to unlocking opportunities and empowering individuals to build a brighter future for themselves and their communities.
