Murray Thistlethwaite
Murray Thistletwaite is a passionate advocate for inclusivity and accessibility, serving as the Youth Ambassador for the Olgeta Foundation. Since beginning his career as a disability support worker in 2019, Murray has committed himself to enhancing the lives of individuals with disabilities through dedicated service and innovative support initiatives.
With a Bachelor of Behavioural Science (Honours in Psychology) and ongoing studies in a Masters of Professional Psychology, Murray's academic background enriches his practical work, underpinning his holistic approach to client support. He is also a provisional psychologist, continuously advancing his expertise to better serve his community.
Murray's dedication to volunteerism is evident in his international and local engagements. He has coached at the All Abilities football program at Olympic FC, served aboard the YWAM PNG medical ship, and volunteered at the New Beginnings Disability School in Nairobi, Kenya. Furthermore, he actively supports the Acts of Compassion Foundation in Kenya, contributing to their mission from afar.
A lover of Papua New Guinea, Murray's connection to the country is deepened by friendships and cultural exchanges, often visiting to immerse himself in the local music and community spirit.
Through his role at the Olgeta Foundation, Murray continues to inspire and lead initiatives that promote equality, understanding, and respect for all, embodying the foundation's commitment to creating a more inclusive world.
