Strengthening Healthcare Where It’s Needed Most
Location: Pasific Islands
Focus: Medical infrastructure, equipment, and facility support
Overview
The Hospital Support Program is a core initiative of the Olgeta Foundation focused on strengthening healthcare facilities in remote and underserved communities.
Across Papua New Guinea, many hospitals and aid posts operate with limited resources and outdated or insufficient equipment. This program delivers practical, hands-on support to improve healthcare conditions, increase capacity, and ensure patients receive safe and dignified care.
What We Do
Through this program, we:
-
Deliver hospital beds and essential medical equipment
-
Support aid posts and rural health facilities
-
Coordinate logistics and transport to remote regions
-
Work directly with local communities and healthcare providers
-
Respond to urgent infrastructure needs on the ground
Why It Matters
In many remote areas, access to basic medical infrastructure is still a major challenge.
Hospitals often face:
-
Shortages of beds and equipment
-
Overcrowded conditions
-
Limited capacity to treat patients safely
By addressing these gaps, we help create safer environments for both patients and healthcare workers.
Impact
Our support contributes to:
-
Improved patient care and recovery conditions
-
Increased healthcare capacity
-
Reduced pressure on medical staff
-
Strengthened local health systems
Each delivery directly improves the daily reality of healthcare in remote communities.
Key Project: Hospital Beds Delivery
One of the major initiatives under this program is the Hospital Beds Project (2023–2025), delivering essential beds and equipment to Oro Provincial Hospital.
This project involved:
-
International sourcing and logistics
-
Multi-partner coordination
-
Final delivery to Papua New Guinea
Our Approach
We focus on:
-
Practical, hands-on solutions
-
Long-term partnerships
-
Working directly with communities
-
Delivering real, measurable outcomes
Looking Ahead
The Hospital Support Program continues to expand, with a focus on reaching more remote facilities and responding to urgent healthcare needs.
We are actively seeking partners to help scale this work and bring essential support to more communities across the Pacific.
