Vacci Tour Program
The Vacci Tour Program, led by Olgeta Foundation in collaboration with Aidocean, delivers essential healthcare services to remote and underserved island communities in Papua New Guinea.
Through mobile outreach missions, the program reaches communities where access to healthcare is extremely limited or non-existent — providing critical medical support, vaccinations, and life-saving care.
Our Objectives
-
Improve access to healthcare in remote island communities
-
Deliver vaccinations and prevent the spread of disease
-
Provide emergency and primary medical care
-
Support long-term community health and wellbeing
What We Do
While vaccination is at the core of the program, the Vacci Tour delivers comprehensive healthcare support in remote conditions.
Services include:
-
Vaccination programs (measles, rubella, tetanus, polio, hepatitis B, pertussis, Hib)
-
Emergency medical treatment and urgent care
-
Safe delivery support in remote environments
-
Eye care services and distribution of reading glasses
-
Dental treatment and pain relief
Where We Work
The first mission took place between September and October 2022, reaching the islands of Lihir, Tanga, and Babase.
In October 2023, the mission continued to New Ireland, including remote communities around New Hanover (Lovongai), following a 900-nautical-mile journey from Port Moresby aboard the Golden Dawn.
Our Impact
-
3,000+ children vaccinated
-
Emergency and primary healthcare delivered
-
Two safe births supported in remote conditions
-
Eye care services and reading glasses distributed
-
Dental treatment provided to underserved communities
A Human-Centred Mission
The Vacci Tour Program is more than a vaccination initiative — it is a lifeline for communities with little or no access to healthcare.
From emergency care to restoring sight and relieving pain, the program demonstrates the power of direct, hands-on humanitarian action.
